Hey there!
I’m Janeth Hernandez, a publishing professional with experience in marketing, design, editorial, and production. Originally from sunny Southern California, I made the leap to Oregon, trading palm trees for towering pines.
I’ve always been drawn to stories, especially romance (I even wrote my graduate research paper on consent and how it differs in subgenres of romance books—check it out in my portfolio.) and fantasy—and that love for storytelling has shaped my career. I have experience in copyediting, proofreading, book design, content creation, and social media strategy, and I enjoy working across departments to bring books to life. Whether it’s polishing a manuscript, designing marketing materials, or creating engaging digital content, I love finding ways to connect stories with readers.
When I’m not working on a book, you’ll find me watching movies, exploring Portland, or trying out new food spots.

Testimonials
My book A Family, Maybe owes a debt of gratitude to the Ooligan’s project manager Janeth Hernandez, who saw it from its early development at the press and to its publication and launch. Throughout this process, Janeth liaised with multiple departments within the press, outside entities, as well as my publicist and myself (the author). She was quick, diligent, and very patient. Publication steps progressed in an orderly fashion, deadlines were met on time, and manuscript drafts and publicity pieces moved from one reviewer to another in an organized and timely manner. Janeth also successfully organized and carried the launch event for my book, augmented by two talks in the writing courses at Portland State University, and chaperoned me through from one step of my visit to the next. I couldn’t have wished for a better project manager for my book.
